Strawberry Cheese Danish
A quick and easy recipe to make these lovely strawberry danishes at home!
I knew this would be a favorite when I saw the list of ingredients and how minimal they were. The preparation is also minimal! I am always so happy to find a breakfast recipe that is quick to make because I never feel like I have the time to make breakfast anymore. If it’s quick, it’s gonna go on my short list. Danishes are one of my favorite breakfast treats so I knew this would be super lovely and I was absolutely right.
What You Need:
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
8 oz. fresh strawberries, diced
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. water
Directions:
In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water for your egg wash. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar on medium high speed until creamy.
Cut each puff pastry into 4 squares and lay on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Fold the corners of each pastry towards the center and press down on the edges to help seal.
Brush each corner with egg wash.
Add a spoonful of strawberries in the center of each pastry.
Dollop 2 Tbsp. cream cheese on each pastry in the center.
Brush any remaining uncovered pastry with egg wash.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes and then top with fresh strawberries before serving.
