Strawberry Cheese Danish

A quick and easy recipe to make these lovely strawberry danishes at home!

I knew this would be a favorite when I saw the list of ingredients and how minimal they were. The preparation is also minimal! I am always so happy to find a breakfast recipe that is quick to make because I never feel like I have the time to make breakfast anymore. If it’s quick, it’s gonna go on my short list. Danishes are one of my favorite breakfast treats so I knew this would be super lovely and I was absolutely right.

What You Need:

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened

  • 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar

  • 8 oz. fresh strawberries, diced

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 Tbsp. water

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water for your egg wash. Set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar on medium high speed until creamy.

  3. Cut each puff pastry into 4 squares and lay on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

  4. Fold the corners of each pastry towards the center and press down on the edges to help seal.

  5. Brush each corner with egg wash.

  6. Add a spoonful of strawberries in the center of each pastry.

  7. Dollop 2 Tbsp. cream cheese on each pastry in the center.

  8. Brush any remaining uncovered pastry with egg wash.

  9. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until slightly golden brown.

  10. Let cool for 5 minutes and then top with fresh strawberries before serving.
