Skillet Taco Macaroni
A simple pasta recipe using taco flavors all made in one skillet.
I cannot stress how delicious this recipe is...at all. It sounds like nothing special, but do not doubt the epic flavor behind these everyday ingredients :)
What You Need:
1 lb. extra lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 can (16 oz) tomato sauce
1 can water (use can from tomato sauce)
2 cans (10 oz each) Rotel, undrained
3 cups elbow macaroni (I used shells - because they are more awesome), uncooked
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 to 1 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. dried cilantro
1/2 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
In a large skillet, brown ground beef with onion over medium-high heat; drain if needed.
Add tomato sauce, water, Rotel, pasta, and seasonings. Stir and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low and cover.
Simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring a couple times to prevent anything from sticking to the bottom, until pasta is al dente.
Add milk and cheddar cheese and stir until cheese melts completely.
