Copycat Spicy Chick-fil-A Sandwiches
The classic spicy sandwich from Chick-fil-A made at home is a breeze!
I’m back back back again with another copycat recipe. I’ve made copycat Chick-fil-A in the past but was happy to find a copycat version of the spicy chicken sandwich which pretty much all of us eat and enjoy. The biggest thing with Chick-fil-A chicken seems to be marinating in pickle juice and adding a teensy bit of powdered sugar to the breading. The sugar in the breading honestly makes so much sense and why it’s so addictive!
What You Need:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup dill pickle juice
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt
Peanut or canola oil for fryiing
4 hamburger buns
16 dill pickles
4 slices Pepperjack cheese
1 tomato, sliced
4 pieces green leaf lettuce
Directions:
Filet your chicken into 4 pieces of chicken and flatten if necessary to even thickness.
Add to a bowl or zipper bag with pickle juice. Cover/close and refrigerate for 60 minutes up to overnight.
Remove chicken from the pickle juice and discard juice. Return to bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk milk and egg together and add to chicken.
In a large zipper bag, add flour, sugar, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Shake to combine.
Drain excess milk and egg off of the chicken and add to the zipper bag. Seal and shake to coat.
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350.
In batches, add chicken and fry until chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Move to a paper towel lined plate and add a slice of cheese while chicken is still warm.
Serve on hamburger buns with dill pickles, tomato slices, and lettuce.
