Honey Baked Ham Copycat

A copycat you just have to have this holiday season - honey baked ham!

Fall is my absolute favorite because of all the cozy holidays. I always look forward to all of the holiday food. Despite being an adult with free will, I stick to tradition and make the holiday foods at the holidays. So I am, of course, looking forward to Thanksgiving and wanted to share one of my family’s favorite ham recipes. This utilizes a precooked, presliced spiral ham but you make the glaze instead of using the one that comes with it.

What You Need:

  • 1 precooked spiral sliced ham (8 to 9 lb)

  • 2 Tbsp. honey

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

  • 1/2 tsp. paprika

Directions:

  1. Place ham in a slow cooker and drizzle with honey.

  2. Cook on LOW for 3 hours.

  3. In a saucepan, add sugar, onion powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and paprika.

  4. Add 6 Tbsp. liquid from the slow cooker to the saucepan.

  5. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat and boil for 1 minute.

  6. Remove ham to an aluminum pan or cookie sheet.

  7. Pour half the glaze onto the skin side of the ham, making sure to get glaze in between presliced pieces.

  8. Place under a preheated broiler and watch for it to get bubbly, about 30 seconds.

  9. Remove and add remaining glaze and put back under broiler for 30 seconds.

  10. Slice fully and serve!
