Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

The combination of cookie dough and brownies topped with a decadent Nutella or milk chocolate frosting - all in one little bar!

These chocolate chip cookie dough brownies have always been a huge hit when I take them anywhere. I decided to take them to the August FRG meeting with a new twist: Nutella. I used the Duncan Hines frosting creations starter and mixed in some Nutella. I topped it off with sprinkles. It was a great addition. It got rave reviews from the soldiers again :)

What you need:

  • 1 box Betty Crocker Original Supreme brownies (must be this kind!)

  • 1 pkg. Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie mix

  • 1 can Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy milk chocolate frosting

  • Vegetable oil

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened

Directions:

  1. Mix brownies according to package instructions using vegetable oil and 2 eggs.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together cookie dough according to package instructions using 1/2 stick butter and 2 eggs.

  3. In a greased 9x13-inch pan, pour brownie batter in and smooth with a spatula.

  4. Drop cookie dough batter by the spoonful (tablespoon or cookie scooper, whatever you have) on top of the brownie batter. Then gently press down each scoop of cookie dough.

  5. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  6. Let cool completely before frosting.

  7. Add frosting on top when completely cooled and slice.
